Ingredients black forest cake

1 box Chocolate cake mix
1 box Chocolate pudding (large box)
1 can Cherry pie filling (21oz)
8 oz Cool whip

how to make black forest cake

Make cake as instructed on box (fyi- I use milk instead of water) and bake

Meanwhile prepare pudding as directed on box and chill while cake is baking/cooling

When cake is done baking cut into squares and begin layering in your trifle bowl.

Layer 1- cake
Layer 2- pudding
Layer 3- cherries (I usually just put the cherries around the sides of the bowl because I don't really love too much of that canned cherry flavor. If you do and you want to use an entire layer of cherries make sure you have 2 cans)
Layer 4- cool whip

Start over til you reach the top of the bowl and decorate as you wish :)

Chill for 4+ hours
